Description
Brimonidine and Timolol Eye Drops can be used to treat ocular hypertension and glaucoma. They can treat open-angle glaucoma and excessive eye pressure (ocular hypertension). Brimonidine is a sympathomimetic, and Timolol is a beta-blocker. They act by lowering the elevated ocular pressure by reducing the formation of aqueous humor (fluid in the eye).
Benefits of Brimonidine and Timolol Eye Drops
These Eye Drops treat open-angle glaucoma and excessive eye pressure (ocular hypertension). Brimonidine and Timolol in the form of ophthalmic solution make up this Eye Drop series (eye drops).
Brimonidine is a sympathomimetic medication, meaning it mimics sympathetic nerve reactions. It works by constricting blood vessels and lowering the flow of aqueous humor. Timolol is a member of the ‘beta-blocker’ class of anti-hypertensive medications, which are principally used to manage high ocular pressure. It reduces aqueous humor secretion by the ciliary body in the eye, resulting in a reduction in eye pressure.
